Cedar Village Car Show Creates Nostalgia for Residents

Mason, OH (July 11, 2017)

Cedar Village residents, families and guests came out to enjoy the annual July 4th Classic Car Show on the Mason campus.  For residents the show was literally a stroll down memory lane.  The vehicles on display reminded many about cars they had when they were younger, including autos that some people would consider collectibles today.  As they viewed the vintage cars, residents also enthusiastically pointed out the ones they would like to drive.

Highlights of this year’s show featured collectible cars of recent vintage. They included Lan Ackley’s 2007 Jaguar XJS, Walter Yonka’s 1959 Ford Edsel and Aaron Yonka’s 1963 Ford Falcon.  Also on display were Bill Bowser’s 2005 Lotus Elite and a 1967 Austin-Healey owned by Howard Schwartz.  Louise Goodman brought her 2002 Ford Thunderbird Limited edition to the visitor’s parking lot, where the vehicles were parked from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The Classic Car Show was sponsored by the Harkavy Fund, which also sponsored an hour-long Independence Day concert by the Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band at 2:00 p.m. in the CRCC. A packed room sang along to the patriotic music and enjoyed a Graeter’s Ice Cream dessert.
